Lessons
Lessons questions
What ages do you teach? +
We teach all ages — from young children just starting out, to adult students returning to music, to advanced pianists preparing for exams. Private piano lessons are offered for absolute beginners through advanced students. Summer camps and Smart Start preschool sessions have age-appropriate groupings.
Do you offer online lessons? In-home lessons? +
Yes to both. We offer three formats: on-site at Tierrasanta Lutheran Church (11240 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92124), live one-on-one online, and in-home concierge lessons (available in San Diego, La Mesa, and El Cajon).
How are lessons scheduled? +
Lessons run on a weekly cadence at a recurring time. Pay-per-lesson and monthly options are both available — we'll go over scheduling and pricing details when you reach out.
How do I get started? +
Reach out via the contact form, by phone, or email. We'll follow up with availability, pricing, and the next step to schedule your first lesson.
Can you accommodate my neurodivergent or special-needs learner? +
Absolutely. We actively welcome neurodivergent students and students with learning or developmental differences, and are a proud community partner of the San Diego Regional Center. Lessons are individualized to each student's pace, sensory needs, and goals.
Camps
Camps questions
What about lunch and snacks at camp? +
Bring your own lunch and snacks — our facility is nut-free, so please leave nut-containing foods at home. We provide water and a snack break midway through the day. Refrigeration is not available.
Does my child need musical experience to attend camp? +
No prior experience needed. Camps are designed for kids at any starting point — first-time campers and seasoned students play and learn side-by-side. Each week's activities scale to ability level.
Smart Start
Smart Start questions
What is RCM Smart Start? +

When does Smart Start meet? +
The fall cohort starts in September and runs for 15 weekly sessions. Class day and time are confirmed with enrolled families about a month before start. Join the waitlist on the Smart Start page to receive enrollment details.
Policies
Policies questions
What's your cancellation policy? +
We require at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a lesson without penalty. Same-day cancellations may not be eligible for a make-up. Detailed policies are agreed to at booking through My Music Staff.
Do you offer make-up lessons? +
Yes — when cancellations are made with 24+ hours' notice. Make-ups are scheduled at mutually available times within a reasonable window. We work with families to keep students on track.
Payment
Payment questions
How do I pay? +
We accept standard payment methods and will walk you through the options when you book. Monthly and per-lesson arrangements are both available.
